GUDDE MOIEN Letzemburg!
The Single Supervisory Machanism SSM is a core pillar of Regulation for Eurozone financial institutions and the proposed Banking Union.
Since the SSM inception in November 2014, the IBF International Bankers Forum and its neutral platform have initiated to regularly keep track on the developments. The 9th European
SSM Round Table was hosted by Governor Gaston Reinesch in the premises of the Banque centrale du Luxembourg. Under the broad heading „Progress in SSM Regulation“ the group of distinguished experts analyzed and recognized the state-of-the-art SSM architecture.
Priorities 2019 and beyond, among the findings:
-ICT Information and Communications Technology gets ever more decisive for successful bank business models.
-Big Data BD and Artificial Intelligence AI move rapidly up in the ranks of core competencies of financial institutions.
-Same business, same risk, same rules.
-Do the best, outsource the rest.
-In the entire EURO and Eurozone area the danger of regulatory overkill has become imminent.
-SRB – what is important is not the plan, it is planning at all.
Focus on resolution planning and making ailing banks resolvable.
-NPLs, and their early avoidance: Teach kids in school to manage their money.
-Do we all know these abbreviations? SSM, ESA Trilogy, NPL, SREP,
TCF, SRM, SRB, SREF, MREL, BRRD, ESM, EDIS, TIBER-EU, RBLF, MPE, BIRD,
-Access to FMIs, MPE, et mult.al
-A voice from the UK: You can call me BOB – Bored on Brexit.
-Brexit is the new YETI – everybody is talking about it, nobody has seen it in reality.
